Technical specification

┬À A range of water based, premixed adhesives which will bond ceramics, metals, glass and most inorganic materials. ┬À They are inorganic in character and set to form a hard, ceramic bond. ┬À There are several ready to use adhesive cements available with a variety of properties. ┬À All set at ambient temperatures through loss of water from the adhesive film. They are designed for uses where air curing is practical - i.e. where the water within the glue line can easily diffuse into the atmosphere. (For curing procedures please consult separate Technical Sheet.) ┬À These adhesive cements should be used for thin layer applications. However, several layers may be built up, one at a time; provided that each layer is dried before the next one is added. ┬À The heat resistant, electrical insulation and special properties of the product are developed after heat curing and ageing. The principal products within the range are: * L7 Thinners - 750┬░C -Viscosity modifier for all Fortafix heat resistant adhesive cements. Can be used on its own as a glassy, transparent adhesive for light film applications. * Fiborclad - 850┬░C - A free flowing adhesive, suitable for use on ceramic fibre and glass fibre products and where fire resistance is an important factor. Available in a range of viscosities.Complies with BS476: Part 4. * Light - 950┬░C - For use where porous materials are to be bonded or where a consistency more fluid than 'Medium Grade' is required. Pourable liquid. * Medium - 1000┬░C - A dense white paste, for general purpose high temperature bonding. See also QS/B4 2-part chemical setting adhesive. * Heavy - 1200┬░C - For sealing and gap filling applications where little or no porosity is evident. A high viscosity paste with a greater density than 'Medium Grade'.
