In a rolling process, the pores of this layer are filled with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which is mixed with additives that reduce friction and wear. A 5 to 30 μm thick top layer of the same material forms the run-in layer. GLYCODUR® F bearings optimally combine the good mechanical properties of sintered bronze with the good sliding and lubricating properties of a PTFE compound. The material structure ensures good dimensional accuracy and thermal conductivity.
