The DUTEC NX100 NME 0183 Expander solves marine electronics communication challenges by allowing multiple listener instruments to connect to a single NMEA talker device, such as a GPS receiver, when the source lacks sufficient drive capability. This unit accepts either a single-ended RS-232 or a differential RS-422 input signal, conditioning and buffering it to deliver three single-ended RS-232 outputs and one differential RS-422 output. It buffers and converts NMEA 0183 signals while providing 2000 volts of full galvanic isolation between inputs, outputs, and the power supply using optical and transformer technology. Designed for demanding marine environments, the NX100 features transient protection on all inputs and outputs and fully potted electronics housed in a flame-retardant ABS plastic case with mounting flanges. It operates on a wide voltage range of 9 to 24 volts DC and utilizes thermoplastic terminal blocks that accept 24 to 14 AWG wire.
