3498 by Gemco

The Gemco 3498 is a heavy-duty AIST spring set magnetic release shoe brake assembly featuring a direct current clapper type design and a 13-inch wheel diameter. Equipped with shunt wound coils (E013026), this unit delivers a torque rating of 550 ft. lbs. for 1-hour operation and 400 ft. lbs. for 8-hour operation on DC voltage. The assembly has a net brake weight of 290 lbs. Please note that a 13 x 5.75-inch brake wheel is not included. This brake is also available to operate via a hydraulic slave cylinder for progressive brake application from a crane cab. Rectifiers for AC voltages are available at an additional cost.
