The Supelco 29541-U starter kit is designed to protect GC columns and detectors from moisture and oxygen damage in carrier gas streams, handling contaminant levels up to 100 ppm. It removes both moisture and oxygen in large quantities (35 liters of moisture and 14 liters of oxygen), and also removes carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. The kit includes a clam-shell oven, two installed elements, and a converter tube. The clam-shell oven heats the converter tube to 580°C, causing contaminants to irreversibly react with the reactant material so they cannot return to the gas stream, even near saturation or during cooling. Note: This unit is not for use with hydrogen gas.
